Summer Solstice Gathering!
Saturday, June 19th
2pm to 5pm
Sladden Park in Eugene
We'll have water balloons, three-legged races, watermelon seed spitting contest, hula hoops and frisbees (and who knows what else!)
Bring group game ideas if you have any at home begging to be shared with others.
If the weather is crappy, our plan 'B' is to meet at Valerie's house. 2168 Jeppesen Acres Rd. Make sure (if you think the weather is questionable) you call my cell and I'll let you know where we are meeting. 541-521-3711.
Annual Emerald Earth Seekers Circle's Camp-Out!
Read a story about one of our campouts!
August 20-22 (friday thru sun)
Cascadia (near SweetHome)
*shared dinners (Dreamcatchers will host Friday's dinner -- burrito bar -- and Firehawks and Sparkly Starflies clean up, then Firehawks will host Saturday's dinner -- pasta -- and Dreamcatchers and Sparkly Starflies will clean up), and community snack table are offered. Otherwise bring your own food and beverages.
*bring regular camping gear that you'll need. Often there are camping stoves that are open to being used when needed. Also, many campers bring their bikes to play with around the group campsite, and parents often bring those glow-in-the-dark necklaces/bracelets to keep track of the kids after dark. In any case, lots of light emitting devices (flashlights) are cool.
*some activities might be: yoga in the mornings, drawings from nature, a teepee ceremony, hikes, bike riding, etc. (I can't remember if there is a water feature close by ... but there usually is, so bring suits!)
Also, those these have not made it to a business meeting table yet, keep in mind other events that will be appearing throughout the year. For example: a Mabon/Fall Equinox ritual and gathering with potluck; friendly bbqs and scouts' homes; more leader and support staff meetings (we try to have one quarterly); and the Yule celebration in December.
